Wednesday Nights @2BC

MID-WEEK MUSIC

Second Baptist Church has a strong tradition of music, and our adult music groups rehearse on Wednesday evenings.

SANCTUARY HANDBELL CHOIR 6:15 p.m. in the Music Suite, Room 501.  Handbell choirs lead in worship by playing preludes and offertories and accompanying the congregation and various choral groups.

SANCTUARY CHOIR 7:15–8:30 p.m. in the Music Suite, Room 501  The Sanctuary Choir offers a focal point for many adults (ages 18+) wishing to find a place of ministry at Second Baptist Church.

BEGINNING HANDBELLS: 4th and 5th grade 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. in Room 502

To join any of the music groups, simply come to a rehearsal!

Join your church family in taking a mid-week breath. Slow down your week and find a place to belong. Eat a meal, have a conversation, renew, turn off the technology, and just pause and reconnect with Christ. Practice His presence with us.

SECOND SESSIONS  | 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Spiritual development opportunities for kids to adults.

Adult Classes January 10 through February 7

Bible Study option (Rm 304-05)

1, 2, 3 John and Jude by Judson Edwards, led by Sanford Beckett. The theme of these books all have to do with truth. The truth about loving God, the truth about loving people, the truth about the difference Jesus makes, and the truth about bad religion. Christians must take a stand against bad teaching, bad leading, and bad living within the church. Those who constantly find themselves giving will appreciate this opportunity to be fed.

Spiritual Growth Option (Room 303)

Spiritual Leadership by Thomas Bandy led by Nick Bartlow. Having just finished serving as the leader of the most recent search committee, Nick’s insight will be both personal and applicable. Thomas Bandy is considered one of the leading church consultant and leadership coaches. In this book he explores why leaders lead and who seekers follow. Are you leading a ministry here? You will appreciate this study.

Spiritual Health Option (Oak Room)

Do you wan to know when to say yes, or how to say no and take control of your life? Having clear boundaries is essential to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible. In other words, boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Boundaries by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend, led by Janet and Jerry Hill, will help you find that path.

Service option (Social Room)

Church Projects coordinated by Larry Gregory. Want to help keep our beautiful buildings and grounds in good shape? We have big and small projects. We have skilled and mostly unskilled projects. Meet Larry or his designee in the Social Room immediately after prayer for the evening’s assignment.

We focus on the growth and development of our whole-selves by intentionally engaging our faith life, interacting with others in ordinary life, and the integration of key spiritual practices. And we have lots of fun while we do it!

High School Small Groups
